Jimmy Dale Sullivan

Jimmy Dale Sullivan, 81, of El Dorado, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born on March 29, 1942 in Kellogg, Idaho to the late Stanley Veo and Bernice Woodward Sullivan.

He was a 1960 graduate of El Dorado High School where he played Saxophone in the marching band for 4 years. He was involved with the sport of softball beginning as a player on a fast pitch team in 1958. In the early 1960’s he formed a slow pitch team and later the 1st slow pitch league in the area. He was also
instrumental in the construction of the El Dorado-Union County Recreational Complex where he served on the Complex Board for several years. He was an umpire for more than 37 years. He was named District Umpire in Chief in 1986 and was District Commissioner for umpires since 2002. We have all spent
countless hours, days, and years watching him make such a huge impact on El Dorado, Union County, and surrounding areas. He was a face behind the plate for many generations of players and coaches.
He was employed for 41 years by Coca Cola as manager for the South Arkansas Area. Jimmy was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 58 years, Charlotte Sullivan; children, Cody
Burns (Marianne) of Oliver Springs TN, Karen Hite (Gordon) of El Dorado, Dee-Shana McKinnon (Gene)
of Parkers Chapel; Two brothers; Stanley Sullivan (Patsy); Donnie Sullivan (Rosalyn) both of El Dorado;
one sister Edwina Schermerhorn (Arnold) of Kildare TX; grandchildren, Heather Booth (Cody), Breanna
Mills, Jordan Weldon (Russ) all of El Dorado, Amy Burns and Quinton Burns of Oliver Springs TN, Evan
McKinnon (Alyson) Little Rock AR, Nicholas Burns (Kelsey) of Thetford, UK, and great grandchildren,
Karson DeBlieux, Kolton DeBlieux, Jaxen Mills, Penelope Burns, and Savvy Weldon; and several nieces
and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Karson DeBlieux, Kolton DeBlieux, Evan McKinnon, Nicholas Burns, Cody Booth,
Ronnie Sehon, Lacy Miles, and Perry Franklin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Quinton Burns.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at Young's.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Young's Chapel with Pastor Daniel
Hudsens officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's
Funeral Directors.
