Ann Gentry, 95, of Smackover, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on January 30, 1930 in Smackover, Arkansas to Earl Bowman and Nannie Moore Bowman.
Ann was a graduate of Norphlet High School and attended Business School in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Smackover where she worked for 35 years in the Nursery.
Ann was a devoted mother to Gary (Rebecca) Gentry of Springdale, and Traci Gentry of Smackover, and a beloved grandmother to Laurie (Donovan) Brigham of Prairie Grove, Justin Gentry of Fayetteville, Phillip Gentry (Latrisha) of Springdale, and Kristin (Dustin) Keener of Texarkana. She had seven great grandchildren. Ann was a loving sister to Harold Bowman of Russellville, and had many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tena Gentry; her sisters, Juanita Lambert, and Nan Stanley; her brothers, Lee Bowman, Bud Bowman, and Billy Joe Bowman.
Ann was an avid golfer and a founding member at Pine Hills Country Club. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association. Ann enjoyed playing with friends and family whom she loved dearly.
Though she was known as Mrs. Ann, she was called Granny by many. She is remembered most for her grace, kindness, warmth, and love that she shared with everyone she met.
