Birdie Marie Burton, age 104, of El Dorado, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at South Arkansas Regional Hospital.
Birdie was born in Huttig, AR on July 15, 1919; she was the daughter of Thomas W. and Minnie Lee McKinney Watkins. Birdie was a member of East Main Baptist Church. She had been the owner of The House of Wigs.
Birdie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers J.L. and T.G. "Red" Watkins, her sisters Lula Mae Sones and Rosa Lee Greenlee and her husband Robert Osie Burton. Nephews Rowland and Charles Watkins, Nieces Louise Nelson and Anita Miles. Stepdaughter Robbie Kendziorski.
Survivors are a step granddaughter Holly Josey of Houston,TX, nephew Larry Watkins of El Dorado, nieces Ruth W Clarke of El Dorado, AR, Shirley Parr of El Dorado, AR, Gloria Campbell of Little Rock, AR and Sheila Bell of Van Buren, AR., special friends Edith, Paula, Vannette, many great nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September, 6, 2023, 11:00 am at the East Main Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, 6:00- 8:00 pm at the Young's Chapel.
