Joan Powledge Anthony, 93, of Shreveport, LA, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born on August 6, 1930 to Ernest George and Thelma Claire Rushing Powledge in El Dorado, AR.
She was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lake Village, AR.
Preceding her in death are her parents; and husband of 68 years, William Henry Anthony, Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Beth Manasco, William Anthony, Jr. (Pat), Martin Anthony (Karen), Lisa Vercher; grandchildren, Trey Keller (Shelly), George Henry Cousins (fiancé, Linda), Will Anthony, III (Meagan), Frances Johnson (David), John Martin Anthony, Jr. (Caroline), Ryan Anthony (Chloe), Hannah Bergeron (Drew), Michael Vercher; and great grandchildren, Henry Keller, Addison Keller, Noah Anthony, Harrison Anthony, Allie Reese Anthony, Liam Anthony, and Thomas Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers are Trey Keller, George Henry Cousins, Will Anthony, III, John Martin Anthony, Jr., Ryan Anthony, Michael Vercher, and Henry Keller.
