Linda Sue Elmore Moody

Linda Sue Elmore Moody of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on the afternoon of December 5, 2025. She was born on January 27, 1947, in Henderson, Texas, to Alvin and Pauline Elmore.

On July 6, 1966, Linda married the love of her life, Wallace Moody, at the First Baptist Church of El Dorado. Together they built a rich and joyful life and were blessed with two children, Mandy Cameron (Vandy) of Bentonville and Eric Moody (Kerry) of Little Rock, and three treasured grandchildren: Olivia Cameron Hunter (Chase) and Abigail Cameron, both of Rogers, and Evan Moody of Fayetteville.

Linda was a proud graduate of El Dorado Public Schools and the University of Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Natural Sciences. She later completed two master’s degrees—a Master of Science from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Secondary Science and Administration from Southern Arkansas University. For over 30 years, she dedicated herself to teaching at El Dorado High School, serving as Science Department Coordinator and mentoring countless new teachers.  Linda was proud to have led the formation of the advanced placement science program for the El Dorado School District. She inspired many students with her passion, warmth, and commitment to education, especially those who continued with careers in the medical field.

A woman of deep faith and service, Linda taught Sunday school and preschool choir at First Baptist Church. She was active in the Child Study Club, the Fine Arts Auxiliary, the YWCA board, and served as Treasurer of the El Dorado Service League during the publication of its first cookbook.

Linda embraced life fully. She loved traveling the country with Wallace in their motor coach, exploring new places and gathering stories she shared with her family. She had a heart for animals—especially the many dogs she and Wallace adored over the years. She found joy in gardening, cooking, hosting loved ones, playing games, and reading. Time spent with her family was her greatest joy, and she made every gathering meaningful.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10, at 10:00 a.m. at  First Baptist Church of El Dorado, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Program at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Main St., El Dorado, AR 71730.
