Shirley L. Howe, 81, of Smackover, AR passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at South Arkansas Regional Hospital.
Born December 23, 1941 in Rosston, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Bennie and Maybelle Green. Mrs. Howe had worked as a hairdresser and cosmetologist at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home before her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Smackover, where she taught the first, second and third grade children in Sunday School.
Preceding her in death along with her parents were her husband, Jewel H. Howell, daughter, Belinda Johnson, brothers, Michael, Charlie, Brady and Arlen Green, and sister, Betty Eads.
Survivors include her grandson, Justin Ryan King and his wife, Marissa Ashley and their children, Kaylynn and Riley King all of Smackover. Also surviving are brothers, Richard, Johnny and Randy Green along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 am, Friday, September 22, 2023 at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
