Thomas Berry Posey, III, 77 of Sherwood, AR and formerly of El Dorado passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 in Little Rock. Born August 18, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of Thomas Berry Posey, II and Martha Arnold Posey both of whom preceded him in death.
Tom had been an employee of South Arkansas Development Center for many years and was the Administrator of the Physical Plant of South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado. After retirement Tom enjoyed his life spending time with family, church, friends and puppies Sidney and Jezabelle. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cynthia Posey of Sherwood, two sons: Matthew Posey of Birmingham, AL and Wade Leverette (Cindy ) of El Dorado, one brother, Michael Posey of Maumelle, AR and two sisters, Arabella Tatum (Bill) and Roxanne Bukacek (Tom) all of Riverside, AL. Also surviving are grandchildren, Lindsie Leverette of El Dorado and Kacie Cole (Harrison) of Marion, AR and great-grandchildren, Layton Carr and Ivy Cole, niece, Erin Strickland (Chris) and 2 great-nieces, Madison and Eva Strickland along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Young’s Funeral Directors.
An entombment will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Columbarium.
