She married her love William Gill Colvin in 1967 and they later became parents to William Mitchell Colvin. She and Gill were members of First Baptist Church in El Dorado, where she served in many capacities from working with youth, children, and single adult Sunday school class for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 53 years, and her older sister Mary Alice Bagwell. Her favorite role came later in life as Grammy to her grandchildren William “Will” and Ainsley Colvin. She spent many hours reading to them, cooking for them, and even teaching them how to make her famous chocolate pie.

While recent years have brought many health struggles, she continued to watch her church services online whenever possible. Her spirit and determination will be remembered by many.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. Saturday, November 29, 2005, at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Unionville Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
