FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE) - The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office made over 50 arrests during Operation Takeback within the Farmerville city limits.
Authorities, town leaders and citizens came together to discuss the rise of crime in the area. The goal of Operation Takeback was to combat crime within Farmerville. For more than seven weeks, UPSO has been working to reduce criminal activity and identify persons of interest in recent crimes. Along with UPSO, the Farmerville Police Department, Louisiana State Police and multiple divisions of UPSO have worked to reduce crime.
UPSO says 53 arrests have been made thus far with 95 individual charges. Authorities say additional arrests also happened during the seven weeks by other agencies.
Operation Takeback is an ongoing mission and will continue into the future, according to UPSO.
