Barbara Ann Tarrant, 87, of Smackover met her heavenly Father on September 18, 2025 at her residence. Born October 18, 1937 in Hoisington, Kansas, she was the daughter of Joseph and Edith Legassick Honish.
Her family moved to California where she met and married Andy Tarrant, Sr. on January 18, 1954. They raised their four children in Kansas, Texas and Arkansas, spending the last 45 years in Smackover.
Barbara accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 17. It is her prayer that all her family knows Jesus as their personal Savior and continue to grow through the word of Christ. Barbara was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Smackover where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served on the food committee.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one brother, three sisters, one granddaughter and a son-in-law, Darrell Hobbs.
Survivors include her children, Cindy Tarrant Hobbs of Seminole, TX, Andy Tarrant, Jr. (Shelley) of Kaufman, TX, Terri Westbrook (David) of McCall Creek, MS and Mary Sharp (Steve) of Smackover. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are honorary family members, John and Sharon Thompson and Jason and Kristi Waxley.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Smackover.
