Betty A. Tucker, 83, of El Dorado passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 27th. She was born April 14th, 1942 in Athens, TX, and was a 1965 graduate of Warner Brown School of Nursing.
Betty worked as a surgical nurse for Drs. Yocum, Tommey, and Scurlock, and as a nurse at Warner Brown Hospital, the Recovery Center, and South Arkansas Regional Health Center. Upon her retirement, she was active as a volunteer in the community and for her church, Faith Community Church. Her favorite role in retirement was being a loving and involved Nana to her three grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, travel, and showing hospitality to her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Henry Lawrence and Francis Marion Lawrence, and a son, Michael Henry Tucker.
She is survived by her son Jeff Tucker (Jenna) of El Dorado, grandchildren Jacob, Rachel, and Joseph Tucker, and a brother, Charles Lawrence of Houston, TX.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 30th from 6-8 pm at Young’s Funeral Home chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 1st, also at Young’s Chapel.
