Bobby Nash 88, of Norphlet passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 at Timberlane Health and Rehab.
Born June 18, 1935 in Strong, Arkansas he was the son of James Franklin and Judy Norris Nash. Mr. Nash moved to Norphlet in 1971 and had been a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years and had served as a deacon and Sunday School Director.
He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Webb on March 3, 1954 and celebrated 63 years together until her death in November, 2016.
Bobby served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He had served his community in many ways including, Norphlet Police Officer (Flash Nash), Norphlet School Athletic Events (Popcorn Man), and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Being a true country boy Bobby developed a fondness for peas and cornbread.
While spending his last 2 years at Timberlane he attended One Community Church with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were his wife, Peggy Nash, infant sister, brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathryn Nash, bonus sister, Willie Carol Frisby, and great-grandson, Collier Nash Sneed.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Roberson (Criss), a son, Mike Nash (Karla) all of Norphlet. Surviving grandchildren are Courtney Sneed (Jason), Carmen Lewis (Patrick), Callie Burson (Taylor), Matt Nash (Caylee) and Michaele Davis (Josh) along with great-grandchildren, Berklee and Bristol Sneed, Chloe, Collin, Braxton and Blakely Lewis, Ryker and Jet Burson, Jaidyn, Ella and Maverick Nash, Hailynn Howe, Baylor, and Reid Davis and special nieces, Becky Harbour and Heather Wade (Presley).
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2023 at Young's Chapel followed by funeral services with Rev. Jason Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
