David Orvin Corley, 79, of Smackover passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on April 4, 1946 to William Edna “W.E.” and Ola Fincher Corley in Louann, Arkansas. He was an oil producer and ran the family company, Corley Trust, with his brother Mervyn until they both retired on December 31, 2024. Everything he did was for his cherished family. David loved being a husband to Judy, dad to Mike and Tamra and papaw to Clayton. He was a faithful lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Smackover. David enjoyed fishing with his son and grandson and in the last few years he took up constructing model trains which ended up taking over the garage.
Preceding him in death along with his parents are his sisters Mildred (Kenneth) Daniel, Brenda Darden and Myrna (Bernard) Gathright and his brothers retired Naval Lt. Commander Bill (Dottie) Perry, Frank (Marion) Corley, Henry Corley and Gary Corley.
Those left to treasure the memories made is his beloved wife of 60 years Judy Corley; his son Mike (Tammy) Corley of Benton; his daughter Tamra (Jeff) Davis of Smackover; grandson Clayton Henderson of Shreveport, Louisiana; and step-grandson Cade Davis of Smackover. He is also survived by his brother Mervyn (Janice) Corley and many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues in the oil field who will all miss him dearly.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to LifeTouch Arkansas Hospice and sitters Cindy Williams and Jessica Senesackda for their fabulous care during these last few weeks. We are all forever grateful to them all.
David’s legacy of love, hard work, loyalty and service will forever live on in his family. A man of integrity, strength and with a quick wit, David will be missed every day by the people who knew and loved him.
A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Young’s Funeral Directors, 508 Champagnolle, ElDorado, AR. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church, 201 W 7th Street, Smackover, AR with committal to follow at Smackover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 201 West 7th Street, Smackover, Arkansas 71762.
