Dorothy Frances Nelson, 93, of El Dorado, passed peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at her home. She was born on October 21, 1931 to the late William Bate and Liza Lee Ramsey in East Point, LA.
Her picture is displayed in the Smackover gym as one of the best basketball players to come out of Smackover. She was a Campfire leader and loved all the girls. She met a lot of her closest friends while working at the Exchange Bank for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 67 years.
She loved decorating for Christmas, family trips, gardening and cooking. Dorothy was a big Razorback fan and loved her cats, Felix and Barney.
Those left to cherish her memory, are her loving and devoted husband and best friend of 69 years, Rudolph; daughters, Rhoda Nelson and Ginger Kazanovicz; grandsons, Matthew Kazanovicz (Morgan) and their children, Charlotte and Eleanor, and Joshua Kazanovicz.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to her caregiver, Janna Doss and her neighbors, Robert and Debbie Hepting.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Young's.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Young's Chapel with Rev. Taylor Geurin officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
