Jeffrey Morris Nelson, 69, of El Dorado, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2025 at his residence. He was born on February 14, 1956 to James Morris and Billie Mitcham Nelson in El Dorado.
As a child he enjoyed being outdoors and was a member of the Boy Scouts. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1974. Jeff was a loyal employee to Milam Construction where he worked as a crane operator and supervisor for 51 years. Jeff was known as the ultimate "handyman" who could fix almost anything. He loved working on his hot rods and spending time with his friends at all the local car shows. Brittany and Lauren were blessed to have him as their father. They share many memories of him, whether it was fishing together in Moro Bay, attending their horse shows, or taking them for ice cream after practice. He was the best Papa and loved his grandkids so much. Jeff devotedly loved his girlfriend Lanita and had spent the last 11 years making memories together.
Preceding him in death are his parents as listed above and his sister Nancy.
Survivors include his aunt Nelda Mitcham, sister Mary Nelson, brother Don (Louise) Nelson, daughters Brittany Cunningham and Lauren (Jordan) Winter, his girlfriend Lanita Mitchell, grandsons Bradyn Betts and Brody Betts, granddaughter Presley Cunningham. He cared dearly for Holly Langston and Pyper Swift; they were family to him. Although tough on the exterior, Jeff was a softie for his dog Vee and granddog Motley.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 28, 2025 at One Community Church with Bro. Jason Yarbrough officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am prior to the service.
