Jody Glen Fite, age 57 of El Dorado passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 25, 2023.
Born December 14, 1965 in El Dorado, he was the son of Lynn Jackson and Glenda Verne Darden Fite. Jody was a pilot for Murphy Oil for over 20 years. Jody was a graduate of Mt. Holly High School and received a B.S. degree in Aviation from Louisiana Tech University where he was a proud member of the PIKE fraternity.
Jody was a lover of all things outdoors, most notably bird watching, as he became a member of the National Audubon Society at a young age. His sons would often message him random pictures of birds to test him and he would always respond with an answer that was usually close to the mark. He will be greatly missed by many.
Preceding him in death along with his mother was a sister Terri Tennyson.
Survivors include his father, Lynn Fite along with three sons, Jesse, Jace and Jackson Fite and many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young's. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Friendship Cemetery on Hopewell Road under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
