Nona Gaylene Freeman

Nona Gaylene Freeman, 59, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025. Born on September 20, 1965, in Camden, Arkansas, Nona lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and grace.

 

Nona devoted much of her career to Baptist Hospital, where she served as a medical admissions clerk. Her gentle demeanor and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on patients and families alike. She was known for her radiant smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to helping those in need while working.

 

Preceding her in death are her mother, Charlene Yarbrough; uncle, James Brown; and grandparents, Walter and Lois Brown.

 

Though she had no children, she was a very proud aunt of Hayli and Hudson Yarbrough. Nona’s nurturing spirit was felt by many. She is survived by her loving brother, Steven Yarbrough (Keri), and her Dear Aunt Lura, along with a host of extended family members and friends who cherished her deep friendship.

 

Nona had a gift for making those around her feel seen and loved. Her laughter, joyful presence, and love for the Arkansas Razorbacks will be missed beyond measure.

 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in Young's Chapel at 1:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm to honor her life and legacy.  Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
