Sarah Jane Hall

Sarah Jane Hall, 84, of El Dorado, passed into glory on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at her home. Born on April 27, 1941, in El Dorado, she was the daughter of Lenox Alton and Lounelle Young Shankle, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of more than 64 years, Bob Hall of El Dorado; her son, Gary Hall of El Dorado; her daughter, Susan Hall (Paula Pratt) of Youngsville, LA; and her sister, Mary Nelle Buck (Richard) of Radford, VA.

Jane graduated from El Dorado High School in 1959 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics from Southern State College. After marrying Bob, the couple traveled to various Air Force stations before returning to El Dorado. Jane worked for several years as a kindergarten teacher at First United Methodist Church before devoting herself to motherhood and homemaking.

A gifted seamstress, Jane found her greatest joy in creating beautiful things to give to others, taking pride not only in the craftsmanship but also in the blessings her work brought to those around her. A long-time member of St. Paul Global Methodist Church, she helped establish several children’s ministries and served for many years as a Certified Lay Assistant, filling pulpits in local congregations when needed. More than anything, Jane’s life itself was her sermon.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at St. Paul Global Methodist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. John Mark Moore and Rev. Alvin McGhee. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made in Jane’s honor to the Helping Hands Food Pantry, St. Paul Global Methodist Church, 700 West 8th Street, El Dorado, AR  71730 or to UCAPS, P. O. Box 204, El Dorado, AR  71730.
