Obituaries

Theresa (TJ) Jenkins Godwin, 96 of ElDorado passed away July 26,2025 at Timberlane Nursing Home.  She was born October 30, 1928 to Dauris and Bessie Kate Jenkins.  She loved the Lord and now at rest with Him.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Godwin and brother Frank Jenkins.

Survived by her sons Charlie Bond (Vicki) of Fayetteville and David Bond (Jamie) of Sherwood.  Survived by her sister Katie McGarry (Shaun) of Hot Springs and sister in law Carol Jenkins of Crossett. Survivors also include 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews.  She is also remembered by her stepchildren Lori Gains  of Stamps, Michael Godwin of North Odgen UT, Barry Godwin (Pam) of Mena, Amy Cowling (Lance) of Atlanta, TX, and 6 step grandchildren and 2  step great-grandchildren.

She leaves many who she dearly loved  especially David and Jennifer Morrison who were always there for her, and  best friend Nancy Davis who spent many hour with her and caring for her, always making sure she had peach cobblers and all kinds of sweets. Thanks to caregivers  Becky Raney, Glenda Brewer and all the wonderful staff, nurses and aids at Timberlane and Ark Hospice that took such good care of her.

Theresa was the first meter maid in ElDorado.  Also gave freely of her service to  American Legion Auxiliary serving as  state president and many other positions.  She loved deer hunting and was a longtime member of Hopewell Deer Club.

Visitation will be Wednesday at 10AM with service at 11 in Young's Funeral  Chapel, El Dorado  officiated by Bro. Clay Dickerson and Bro. Barry Godwin. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Galilee Baptist Church, 117 Galilee Rd. El Dorado AR.
